A power steering flush completely drains the system of the old fluid and replaces it with new clean fluid. It is critical to change the steering fluid from time to time to prevent dirty fluid from damaging the steering pump or the rack and pinion assembly.

Removing the contaminants from the steering system will prolong the steering parts and prevent seals from leaking. In addition old power steering fluid will break down and prevent proper lubrication of the steering components.
