I’m originally from Midland, TX. I graduated from Midland High in 1999. I spent some time at a local community college before going to the University of Texas. I graduated from UT in 2006. I majored in Russian and Eastern European Studies and Government.

I started the The Atypical Mechanic while I was interning at the Texas Capital and CASA of Travis County. Initially it was just to pay rent but it soon became a full time job. My internships were crucial in helping me to decide how I wanted to help this community. I currently serve on the Habitat for Humanity Young Professionals board and I am a recent graduate of Leadership Austin Emerge class.
